Early sunday morning and as we near Toronto the sun fades and the first drops of rain appear. As we arrive at Spears Point Park the site of 3 Nortons and a few club members sheltering from the rain makes me wonder if the weather is going to put the dampers on the 2008 Norton Day.
Then Reddo turns up with his new Fastback fresh off the truck at 3.00 that morning. Of course he cant resist trying to start it but the faint glow of the headlamp doesn't bode well and its more than a few kicks before the task is abandoned. One way of getting warm. The rest of us will have to imbibe from the Hunter Valley tea urn though its not long before the club trailer and attached ice box is made use of.
Then suddenly it happens. Norton after Norton arrives. The rain stops, more bikes arrive, the BBQ is fired up and we have an event. By lunchtime we have 36 Nortons on display plus a smattering of other marques.
Thanks to all the HVNOC who organised the event, special thanks to Griff for taking all the photos, more than I could squeeze on to the website, and taking down the details of all of the bikes and riders at the event.
