About the Club

NSWNOC - Running man

The Norton Owners Club of NSW has existed since May 1981. The present membership is in excess of 130 members, scattered throughout Australia.

The principal aim of the club is to provide a means whereby anyone with an interest in Nortons can share ideas, technical information, and camaraderie with other Norton enthusiasts. This has now resulted in more Nortons back on the road than ever before in the Club’s history. For further details about the club, meeting, contacts and membership go to the club page

Norton Racing Isle of Man Tuesday 12th June

"By a quirk of the Norton gods, a slice of Norton history is unfolding on June 12th.
-  Norton returns to the Island of Man (IOM)
-  A Peter Williams design returns to the island.

Norton last won at the IOM when Steve Hislop won on a Rotary Norton in 1992 - beating Carl Fogarty.   A pushrod Norton last won a TT F750 race when Peter Williams won on a 1973 John Player monocoque Norton.

Now, 19 years later, Michael Dunlop, (son of the famous Joey Dunlop) will be racing a RRV 588 Rotary Norton in the Senior TT. Now too another bike designed by Peter Williams - this time with an exoskeletal carbon frame- will race in the new TTXGP - a brand new international 'eco / carbon neutral motorcycle race."

This years Unapproachable Rally was held again in Nundle NSW, in the heart of Fossicking country. Once again the rally was organized by the Hunter Valley branch.

There was a huge turnout with 61 bikes and 80 people attending the annual NOCNSW rally. It was a fantastic weekend with beautiful weather. There was a great ride out on Saturday. Leaving Nundle the rally rode to Chaffey Dam then on to the Tamworth Lookout and back to the Dungowan pub for lunch.

In the afternoon they returned to Nundle for a static bike display in the park and some lovely bikes turned up. On Saturday night after dinner at the Peel Inn 15 trophies were awarded and 15 raffle prizes won! (read more)

NOCNSW Sponsor Period 4 Formula 750 Class

The Norton Owners Club of NSW in conjunction with the Post Classic Racing Association of NSW are combining to revive the Period 4 Formula 750 class.  The 750 class was the premier non-GP racing class of the early to mid 1970’s and is recognised as an official historic racing class by Motorcycling Australia.

The Norton Owners Club are looking to restore interest in this class by encouraging enthusiasts to get their 750’s back onto the track to reflect the racing grids and machines of the 1970’s. (read more)

NYC Race Rebuild

Support Black Sunday Marysville Ride

I have featured a link to the NYC Norton Race Bike pages on our sites Links pages for sometime. For those that don't delve into the goodies to be found there in, may I bring to your attention a sites with great photos and a darn good read.

Damien of the Independent Riders' Group, Melbourne is seeking support for an annual ride on the first Saturday after the anniversary of Black Saturday.

He says "If that goes ahead it would be on February 13, 2010. The support I'm after would be gift vouchers for prizes for those who attend."

If you can offer help please contact Damien on 0419 846 855.
