"Well you have to hand it to the good folks of the Hunter Valley Norton club for bungin’ on a superb rally; the site is spot on containing a lovely swimming hole, showers, toilets and a pub just up the road. Most important of all, the friendly hospitality of ALL the members of the club! Well done!!!My excursion started on Friday afternoon setting out from Ulladulla and again taking the scenic route through the "nasho" (Royal National park) so much cooler under the trees than on that stinking hot expressway. Got to Sydney with no dramas where I was to enjoy the company of Geoff and Cath for the night, topped off with combat coming over for dinner and a yarn

Saturday morn arrives and we are joined by B2 on the knock ‘em down, pick ‘em up, knock ‘em down, pick the bloody thing up again (sounds like a song) faux Bonnie! Off we go taking the putty road and maybe to meet up with the HV Norton lads...and lasses at Singlestown. Stop at a servo near Windsor only to find that the ignition key as well as the barrel has decided to part company with the Matchy...great! Have to stall the thing to stop her! Never mind the Boyer turns itself off after a while so the coil doesn’t burn out. Stopped for lunch at Halfway House, everyone having a phat time with all bikes behaving the way they should, gets to Singleton to be told by the barman that the Norton owners have just left. We arrive at the Beatty Hotel in Gresford where everyone is tucking into some pub grub and ready to party. And party we did!!!!

I picked up the long distance award (thanks fellas, luv the mug) Murph gets
King of the Rally and B2 collects the hard luck award! My luck was running high as I also won the raffle and accepted the HVNOC Top of the Valley T-shirt (cant buy these in a shop!)" - Mago

"On the way back from the Gresford Rally myself and the Redoubtable Re-do dropped into the Newcastle Vet & Vin clubs girder fork run. There were about 20 bikes in attendance from back around 1911 / 12 up to the last of the girders circa 1946 /7. I'd already ridden my 1946 Model 18 Norton from Newcastle out to Singleton and across to Gresford maybe 100klm or so and was on the way home and dropped in for a few more klms on their hub runs."
